MATH

We are currently working on Chapter 3 in math class.  Chapter 3 focuses on Decimal Place Value and Adding/Subtracting Decimals.  Each student has a Math Notebook that should come home with them any night they have math homework.  This notebook has examples and explanations of each day's lesson.

It is important that by 5th grade students are fluent in basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts.   Please practice at home by using flashcards, games, and Xtra Math.  Contact myself or Mrs. Taylor if you need any help accessing resources for fact practice.

READ!!!

Remember the best way to improve your reading skills is TO READ!!!  Mrs. Muslin's fifth grade students are asked to read 15 minutes every night.  Students should be reading "good fit" books.  "Good fit" books are books that are not too hard, but aren't too easy either.  We strongly encourage 5th grade students to read chapter books.  Although AR is no longer graded or required, students can still take AR tests.  READ, READ, READ!!
