As we continue to learn more about the tragic school shooting in Florida, our hearts go out to the students, families, school staff, and community who have been impacted. In the wake of this tragedy, we want to reinforce that safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We will continue to reflect on our current crisis protocols to ensure that we have proactive plans in place at all times. One of the most imperative parts of a proactive crisis response plan is communication. We ask you to continue to keep open lines of communication with your children and for your children to be open with a trusted adult in the school setting if they have any concerns about safety. If any of our students need support or need to talk, please let us know. We will all hug our families close tonight while keeping the victims in Florida in our thoughts. [...click for more]

Decisions regarding school delays are based on the conditions for that day.  These decisions are made in consultation with McCarter, Penn Dot and other government agencies that may or may not provide information at the time.

For example, today, January 8, 2018, the inclement weather did not begin until approximately 6:00 AM with rain.  In consultation with McCarter, it was decided that road conditions were more favorable early than they would be 2 hours later.  The decision was made to operate on a regular schedule.  We will continue to work with McCarter to make the best informed decision as weather conditions present at that time.

It is each parent/guardian's prerogative to choose to keep your child home from school if you should feel the temperature warrants such action. Upon your child's return to school, please issue a written excuse to the building principal's office stating that your child was absent due to the weather. This absence will be considered an "excused" absence. The safety of our students is always our number one priority.
