One of my favorite parts of teaching PRIDE is our community outings. Community based instruction is a crucial part of any life skills program. We will go into the community approximately 2 times per month. An example of our trips include shopping, eating at a restaurant, going to the movies, visiting friends at other schools and going bowling. Going into the community gives the students the opportunity to practice many skills they can't in the classroom setting.
