3rd Nine Weeks Preview
Reading - We will be continuing to read selections from our Storytown book, including "Mountains," "The Stranger," and "The Bunyans."  We will be focusing on the comprehension focus skills of cause and effect, drawing conclusions, predicting outcomes, and understanding figurative language.  We will also be exploring a variety of text types in small groups, while working on test-taking strategies.
 
ELA - We will be focusing on the basic grammar concepts of nouns, verbs, and adjectives, while also learning to respond to open-ended prompts and to write several different types of essays.
 
Math - Fractions will be our big focus over the next few chapters, followed by decimals.  We will also be exploring geometry and measurement concepts.
 
Social Studies - We will be learning about William Penn and the early days of Colonial Pennsylvania throughout the third nine weeks.
 
Science - We will be learning about the water cycle and space, as well as the Wetlands habitat.
