Blackhawk School District is proud to offer a full continuum of special education services and programs to all students eligible for such services. We implement and support Inclusion Learning Support services, as well as Life Skills Support, Autistic Support, and Emotional Support programming. Blackhawk also offers services such as speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy, as well as support for hearing and/or visually impaired students. Social, behavioral, and sensory needs of students along the Autism spectrum are met with appropriate supports and implemented by trained teachers and staff. School districts may not charge parents of eligible students with disabilities for the costs of related services that have been included on the child's IEP when the IEP team has determined that such services are required in order for the child to benefit from his or her education.
If you would like further information about our Special Education services, please contact Dr. Trisha Huston - Director of Special Education at 724-843-1005.
