FOLLOW YOUR “A” SCHEDULE TODAY

1.    Summer Help Needed---If you are graduating this year and will be 18 years or older at the end of the 23-24 school year, we have an opportunity for you!  The Blackhawk maintenance department is in need of summer help to cut grass, paint, clean and do supervised general maintenance jobs.  Please contact Darrin Fleischmann at 724-846-9600, Extension 1015 or [email protected].  The rate of pay is $15.00 per hour.

2.    Today is the last day to sign up for a Prom table.  Sign up in the Gold Cafeteria during homeroom.  If you don’t sign up you will be assigned to a table.

3.    Prom court voting will take place during homeroom today.

4.    Applications for the Blackhawk High School Student Ambassador Program are now available for current 9th and 10th grade students. BHS Student Ambassadors partner with 8th grade students at Highland Middle School in a variety of activities and events to help with their transition to high school. If you are interested in this leadership opportunity, please fill out the application posted in Schoology and return to Mrs. Gantz (in-person or email) by Thursday, May 9th. Late applications will not be accepted. If you are a current 10th grade Student Ambassador, you do not need to re-apply.

5.    Attention Sophomores:  The Blackhawk School District Board of Director’s recognizes the need for communication between the student body and the Board in order to identify the students concerns and views on the various board decisions.  If you are interested in being the junior class student representative for the 2024-2025 school year, please stop in the office today and pick up a packet.  The junior class student is considered the alternate representative.  The application process includes providing an essay explaining why you want to be a representative and a petition signed by 40 students.  Essays and petitions are to be submitted to the high school office by May 17, 2024.

6.    If you received an invitation to the Academic Excellence Banquet, please return your RSVP to the high school office by Monday, May 6th.

7.    Anyone interested in joining Best Buddies for the 2024-2025 school year should send their application in by Friday, May 10th. Applications can be found on Schoology.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. McGee, or Best Buddies President, Hayley Bernauer.

8.    All remaining Grand March tickets will be sold in person only during homeroom, either in the Gold Cafeteria  or Room 226. 

9.    Please join the Varsity Baseball Team in raising money for the American Cancer Society on Monday May 6 during their home game against Moon.  The night will honor those who have lost their battle to this disease, fighting the battle daily, or supporting a loved one.  Please spread the word to be at Park Field for this event.  There will be a 50/50 and a raffle including donated items from former Blackhawk standouts and MLB players…Brendan McKay, Michael Turconi, and Joey Campagna.  First pitch is at 4:00. Hope to see you there.
